Position Duties
The position of college professor is a multifaceted career, especially as a Christian walking according to the call of God upon his or her life. Such a career encompasses opportunities for teaching, counseling, character development, skill development, and ministry.

Skills Required
To be an effective, life-changing, difference-making college professor, it is necessary to master certain skills and abilities. Among which are:
*      A master or doctorate degree in a specialized area
*      A mastery of teaching methodology and pedagogy
*      An understanding of educational psychology
*      Good common sense
*      A love for people
*      The willingness to develop relationships with students

Preparation Needed
Anyone preparing to enter the college or university arena as a professor should pursue a sound education in a specialized area such as Old Testament, History, or Science. Broad or general areas of study such as Christian education may prove to be more competitive in the job market.
